Donald Ransom, 82, of Melbourne, passed away into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Preston, Idaho. 


He was retired both from the Air Force of 24 years and Southern Bell of 20 years. He was a member of the So. Carolina Masonic Lodge, Azan Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was an avid fisherman and golfer belonging to both the Melbourne Beach and Azan Golf Assoc. 



He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn of 60 years and four children, Steven, Patricia, Judy and Karma; sister, Norma Seamons of Logan, UT; aunt, Jeanne Wells of Preston, ID; numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren, one great grandchild. 



A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Ave., Melbourne. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.

Frank Waring, 84 of Melbourne passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday July 19, 2012 in Palm Bay. 

Frank moved here in 1957 from Vienna, WV and was a Retired Missile Mechanic for General Dynamics Corp. at KSC.  He was a member of Church of Christ of Eau Gallie, a veteran of the USAF and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his sons Stephen (Sandy) of Malabar and Timothy of West Melbourne a daughter Jennifer (Larry) Rhoades of Cocoa, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife Emeline in March.


Services will be Saturday July 28th @ 2pm   with visitation one hour before the service at the Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Chapel.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Eau Gallie Church of Christ on Sarno Road.

Deloris E. Winslow passed away on Thursday July 19th in Melbourne.   Deloris was born April 28, 1917 in Iroquois County Illinois to William R. & Susie E. Doran.   After graduation from Sheldon,   IL High School, she attended Gallagher Business College in Kankakee, IL.   On Feb. 1, 1936 she married Kenneth L. Winslow of Donovan, ll. Two years later a daughter, Rachel Ann, was born to this union.  

Deloris was an accountant and worked in the office of Iroquois County Hospital in Watseka, IL.    She and her husband also had a business, Winslow’s Drive In in Watseka.   In 1946 they sold their home and business and moved permanently to FL.    Deloris was active as a Girl Scout Leader, working with youth in Christian Church.   She spent 3 years in Germany working with Red Cross Auxiliary with patients in Army hospital in Heidelberg.   She moved from Miami in 1968 to Palm Bay, and has lived in this area ever since.  

For about thirteen years she was craft instructor on many Cruise Lines and spent her evenings on the dance floor.   She is remembered on many ships as The Dancer or Ginger. She was very active in First Christian Church as CWF president,   Junior Church, and as an Elder.   She is at present an Elder Emeritus in that church.   She had to give up her craft on ships and church work when she finally lost her sight from glaucoma and moved to the Fountains.

Her husband, both parents, stepfather, Ray Webster, half brother, John R. Webster, have all preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel McAllister, grandsons, Joel, Jason, Guy and Michael McAllister,  3 great grandsons, & 1 great granddaughter.

Calling hours will be Thursday July 26th from 4pm-6pm at the Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne.  A graveside services will be Friday July 27th @  11am at the Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
